Sam Kang Leads After Two Rounds at the New Jersey PGA Championship

Sam Kang will look to etch his name into the the John J. Clancy Trophy a second time after posting a 4-under 138 after two rounds.

Kang, who won this event in 2011, had five birdies on his round on the way to a 2-under 69. Last year’s champion, Alex Beach, put together a 3-under 68 performance in his second round to jump in a tie for third with Marc Issler at 1-under.

Rich Terga continued his impressive play on his home course and sits in solo second at 2-under overall. Frank Esposito, who own the Section Championship when it was hosted here in 2007 and 2009, sits in a tie for sixth at even.

Last year’s Lincoln Charity Clambake winner, Bill Hook, had the low round of the day with a 4-under 67. Hook is seeking his second Section major. Three-time Section Championship winner Brent Studer sits in a tie for 10th with two-time Section Championship winner Bill Britton at 3-over.
